Show Statement:
My work has always had a strong connection to memory, with the question of what happens to those memories we can no longer remember. Often these moments quietly disappear without as much of a second thought. Through other bodies of work I have explored what happens of the memories we purposely seek to forget. Those memories often come back at inconvenient moments and can rock us at our core. Through my continues use of dismantled old book as metaphor for memory loss, and now with the addition of rusted and eco-dyed papers being utilized in my work, I am an exploring those little persistent memories that we would like to forget but just cannot, they are imprinted too deeply on us. Some will cause literal decay, others allow us to find beauty in the tiny details and colors of the moment through all the chaos.
